How to avoid careless mistakes in bank exams?

If you know all necessary information about the question and have necessary skills to solve it, and still you made a mistake, those are called careless mistakes. In an exam situation, candidates will be in a stress environment which lead to careless mistakes. Here are some tips to avoid careless mistakes in bank exam.

  • Common Traps - You got to be extra careful when solving subjects or topics you are strong in. Careless mistakes often occurs in familiar questions.
  • Reading Questions Carelessly - Most common careless mistakes that students make is mis-answering without reading the questions carefully. So read and understand the question carefully before answering.
  • Keep the calculations neat - Try to keep the calculations neat and systematic.
  • Understand the type of careless mistakes you make during practice - Keep track of the careless mistakes you make during your IBPS exam preparation time and work towards removing them.
  • Identify what made that careless mistake - Ask yourself why you made a certain type of mistake. Practice question papers and find out the careless mistakes you make; focus on that part and make sure you will not repeat it on the final bank exam.
  • Double check the question before moving on - Take an extra five seconds to double check the question before moving to the next one to make sure you have marked the right answer and has not made any careless mistakes.
  • Don't hurry up to get to the next question - Rushing never helps on bank exams. It may lead to careless mistakes. So don't rush! Move quickly and methodically to the next problem.
  • Practice Mock Tests at  stretch -  Careless mistakes happen when you are out of focus, and you get out of focus when you don't have the practice of solving  complete question paper at a stretch.  So practice mock tests for 2-3 hours at a stretch in an exam enviornment.
