Scope of Diploma in Nautical Science

Diploma Nautical Science (DNS) is a one year pre-sea course, conducted by Indian Maritime University. This course makes a student eligible to work on ship as Deck Cadet. After completion of 1 year training at IMU approved colleges and issuance of the due CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate) students can join a ship as DC. Deck Cadet is the first most level of a deck officer or navigation officer. These officers are responsible for sailing a ship.
